Ante todo debo pedir disculpas por la calidad de las imágenes, pero es lo que tiene ir a la guerra con lo básico, con una Smartphone.

A primeros de septiembre, me reuní con mi compañero Enric, para retomar las partidas y jugar una de 2GM, teniendo muy en cuenta los debidos requisitos que nos obliga la actual pandemia mundial, con las 3 “M”: Mascarilla, Manos lavadas, 1,5 Metros de distancia. Aunque se debe reconocer que en una partida de wargame la última “M” es un poco complicado de mantener la distancia mínima en algunos momentos.

 

At the beginning of September, I met with my partner Enric, to resume the games and play a 2GM, taking into account the due requirements imposed by the current global pandemic, with the 3 "M": Mask, washed Hands (“Manos” in Spanish), 1.5 Meters away. Although it must be recognized that in a wargame game the last "M" is a bit difficult to maintain the minimum distance at times.

 

En esta ocasión, como en las últimas que nos juntamos para partidas, él lleva sus alemanes y yo mis norteamericanos.

Realizamos una partida random, con el objetivo de tomar el cruce.

 

On this occasion, as in the last ones we got together for games, he brings his Germans and I my North Americans.

We carry out a random game, with the aim of taking the crossing.

Los alemanes, siendo los defensores, despliegan primero, realizando un despliegue protegiendo sus flancos con sus blindados.

 

The Germans, being the defenders, deploy first, making a deployment protecting their flanks with their armor.

Mientras que los USA realizan un despliegue evolvente lateral; los blindados dispuestos a proteger el objetivo y la infantería a avanzar para llegar por el flanco.

 

While the USA carry out a lateral revolving deployment; the armor ready to protect the objective and the infantry to advance to reach the flank.

Es evidente que los dos confundimos las tácticas, ya que el objetivo es la toma del cruce, cosa que sólo puede hacer la infantería.

 

It is clear that we both confused the tactics, since the objective is to take the crossing, which only the infantry can do.

Como los alemanes eran los defensores, son los primeros en desplegar, pero los últimos en mover. Y por ello avanzan los americanos, pero con poca fortuna en las ordenes, ya que no avanzan lo que deberían.

 

Since the Germans were the defenders, they are the first to deploy, but the last to move. And that is why the Americans advance, but with little fortune in the orders, since they are not advancing as they should.

Los alemanes, en su turno pueden avanzar más del doble que los USA, y tienen la oportunidad de poder disparar sobre las tropas yankees.

 

The Germans, in their turn, can advance more than twice as much as the USA, and they have the opportunity to fire on the Yankee troops.

Al poder avanzar más, las unidades alemanas pueden estar mejor protegidas las norteamericanas.

 

By being able to advance further, the German units can be better protected than the American ones.

Un Pak 40 sobre una colina convirtió en un infierno el avance blindado norteamericano.

 

A Pak 40 on a hill turned the American armored advance into hell.

Los blindados USA, si no habían sido alcanzados y desmotivados, pudieron llegar a zonas con una cobertura adecuada para responder los disparos.

 

The US armored vehicles, if they had not been hit and demotivated, were able to reach areas with adequate cover to respond to the shots.

Tras unos cuantos turnos, con órdenes muy pobres (los dados no perdonan), los blindados norteamericanos ya habían perdido un tanque y otro estaba en retirada (cobarde infame…), bastante difícil de poder recuperarlo.

 

After a few turns, with very poor orders (the dice are unforgiving), the North American tanks had already lost a tank and another was in retreat (infamous coward…), quite difficult to recover.

Y su infantería no había corrido mejor suerte, ya que terminaron un pelotón en retirada, junto con una de las HMG de apoyo.

 

And his infantry had fared no better, finishing a retreating platoon, along with one of the support HMGs.

Al final la partida, los americanos habían perdido varios pelotones de infantería y tenían unidades en retirada.

Los alemanes jugaron bien y no permitieron que los USA les dispararan ni avanzaran en condiciones.

 

By the end of the game, the Americans had lost several infantry platoons and had units in retreat.

The Germans played well and did not allow the USA to shoot or advance properly.

 

Lo importante fuen pasar una buena tarde, hablando de temas de club, que hacía meses no se podía hacer, retomar el contacto con los wargames y poder reirnos en especial de las tiradas “raras” que tubimos los dos contrincantes.

 

The important thing was to have a good afternoon, talking about club issues, which had not been possible for months, to regain contact with the wargames and to be able to laugh especially at the "rare" runs that the two opponents had.
