Chaos Vs High Elves

 

Mi primera toma de contacto “seria” con el reglamento AoF (Ages of Fantasy), para batallas.

 

My first “serious” contact with the AoF (Ages of Fantasy) regulations, for battles.

 

La disposición del escenario es uno aleatorio sacado de los escenarios del reglamento, denominado “Emboscada”, que consiste en que las tropas élficas despliegan en marcha por un camino, que va en diagonal, de lado a lado del tablero de juego, mientras que el caos surge de ambos lados del camino y ataca en emboscada.

 

The layout of the scenario is a random one taken from the regulation scenarios, called “Ambush”, which consists of the elven troops deploying on a path, which goes diagonally, from side to side of the game board, while the Chaos arises from both sides of the road and attacks in ambush.

Nada más empezar la partida, las bestias de los elfos que iban en la cabeza de la marcha, se lanzaron sobre las propias del caos.

En el tercer turno, aparece una unidad del caos que estaba en reserva, y salen en el punto medio del tablero, justo donde más daño pueden hacer en estos momentos.

Y consiguen rodear al mago elfo a caballo.

El ave fénix de los Altos Elfos, después de no conseguir nada contra el comandante del caos, consigue destrabarse del combate y se lanza contra unas unidades propias, por error (esa tirada de dados…). A caos cualquier error ya nos va muy bien.

Las tropas del caos de la retaguardia, consiguen eliminar a las tropas de cola de la columna élfica.

Y consiguen deshacerse de un buen número de orejas picudas.

Por su parte, el gran devastador del caos, consigue deshacerse del dragón y de los yelmos plateados, que tanto rato le ha estado entorpeciendo en su objetivo.

Y por fin queda libre de cambiar de objetivo.

El fénix de hielo al final sucumbe ante el ataque del jefe del caos y las tropas que lo respaldan, pero a costa de grandes bajas, es un elemento duro de roer.

El grupo “skin” va dando palizas a todos los que quedan sueltos por el campo de batalla.

Cuando al principio de la partida parecía que los Altos Elfos tenían muy controlada la partida, al final de la partida, entre las estrategias y los dados, el caos ha conseguido tener relativamente pocas bajas, en comparación de su contrincante, que le ha quedado soldados y algún mando suelto y esparcidos por el campo de batalla, sin poder darse apoyo entre ellos.

 

When at the beginning of the game it seemed that the High Elves had very controlled the game, at the end of the game, between the strategies and the dice, the chaos has managed to have relatively few casualties, compared to its opponent, who has been soldiers and some loose command and scattered on the battlefield, without being able to support each other.

 

Una buena tarde de risas y contacto con este reglamento.

Debo decir que a mi, personalmente, no me atraes los juegos de Fantasy… bueno, no me atraían, ya que supongo no había reglamento que me terminara de gustar o encajar en mi forma de jugar. En especial de de GW, que siempre lo he considerado muy descompensado.

En estos momentos he rescatado mis Altos Elfos, los Orcos/goblins y tropas humanas (tanto para fantasy como para histórico). Tanto para las batallas de grandes tropas como este informe de batalla, como para el de escaramuzas, que es el mismo dirigido a pocas unidades (unas 10 por bando), con alguna variación específica para esas pequeñas batallas.

Ya os iré informando tal como vaya avanzando las partidas de fantasy.

I must say that I, personally, do not like Fantasy games ... well, I was not attracted to them, since I suppose there were no rules that I liked or fit my way of playing. Especially from GW, who I have always considered very unbalanced.

At the moment I have rescued my High Elves, Orcs / goblins and human troops (for both fantasy and historical). Both for the battles of large troops such as this battle report, as for the skirmish report, which is the same aimed at a few units (about 10 per side), with some specific variation for those small battles.

Imperial Eagle 2021-03

 

De nuevo hemos vuelto a jugar una partida de Imperial Eagle, reglamento napoleónico de Campaign Games Miniatures.

Nuevamente hemos invitado a Dermot Quongley, creador del juego, que estuviera presente en la partida y gracias a que las restricciones sobre la pandemia están en ese momento moderadas, ya que es una persona de riesgo, ha querido estar pero haciendo de árbitro y llevando la distancia de seguridad muy a rajatabla.

 

Again we have played a game of Imperial Eagle, Napoleonic regulation of Campaign Games Miniatures.

Once again we invited Dermot Quongley, creator of the game, to be present at the game and thanks to the fact that the restrictions on the pandemic are at that time moderate, since he is a person at risk, he wanted to be but acting as a referee and carrying very strict safety distance.

 

El terreno era bien simple, una campo de batalla completamente despejado, con una pequeña población en un lado, y un grupo de granjas con bosque en el otro.

La disposición francesa es bastante tradicional, una división en su flanco centro izquierdo, apoyado por una brigada de caballería y su artillería ligera, y una brigada de infantería por su flanco derecho, con la batería de división de apoyo.

Los rusos fuimos un poco más… “creativos”, por no decir desordenados, ya que llegue con la intención de aprender nuevas reglas y probar cosas que no había hecho hasta este momento con este treglamento.

En nuestro flanco derecho, una brigada de Jaguers, para un avance rápido, un Centro con una brigada de caballería, apoyada por su batería ligera y por la artillería de división, una a cada lado de la brigada, y nuestra división de infantería en el flanco izquierdo.

 

The Russians were a little more… “creative”, not to say messy, since I arrived with the intention of learning new rules and trying things that I had not done until now with this regulation.

El inicio de la partida se realiza mediante las andanadas de la artillería de ambos bandos.

En el caso de los rusos, todas las baterías disparan para “ablandar” a la infantería que hay frente a la brigada de caballería.

Esta brigada avanza a galope tendido contra las unidades enemigas. Delante va el regimiento ligero de Húsares, seguido por el regimiento de Dragones.

Como en su movimiento no puede llegar a la carga, la artillería francesa dispara sin piedad sobre esta carga de caballería.

La partido no duro más allá de este segundo turno, ya que la intención era probar cosas nuevas que hasta ahora no habíamos tocado.

Por nuestro flanco derecho, que no se ve en las imágenes, los Jaguers consiguen llegar al bosque y disparar contra la caballería francesa, dejándola algo tocada

Mientras por nuestro flanco izquierdo, una de las brigadas de la división, tuvo que maniobrar para no tener que avanzar por los sembrados del pueblo, lo que hizo que la marcha fuese terriblemente lenta y caótica. Si hubiesen atravesado los campos sembrados, no habría sido tan caótico, pero si mucho más lento aún.

La infantería francesa del centro y de su flanco derecho no tuvieron prisa para avanzar, mientras que por el centro, ambos bandos, a la infantería le faltó un turno para llegar a distancia de mosquetería efectiva, aunque disparos y alguna que otra herida, en el segundo turno, ya hubo.

 

The game did not last beyond this second turn, since the intention was to try new things that until now we had not touched.

While on our left flank, one of the brigades of the division had to maneuver so as not to have to advance through the fields of the town, which made the march terribly slow and chaotic. The French infantry in the center and on its right flank were in no hurry to advance, while in the center, both sides, the infantry lacked a turn to reach effective musketry distance, although shots and the occasional wound, in the second shift, there was already.

 

Como reglamento para partidas rápidas está claro que funciona muy bien, ya que en el segundo turno ambos bandos ya había llegado a distancia de carga de caballería y de disparo de mosquetería.

Las partidas suelen jugarse entre 4 y 6 turnos. Cuando te lo dicen por primera vez, piensas que no se llegará a nada, pero visto esta partida, que sólo se iba a ver como responde la artillería con las nuevas modificaciones (los rusos) y como funcionan las cargas de caballería contra la infantería, está claro que el avance hasta llegar al ZOC (Zona de Control) es muy rápido; y una vez en ZOC, ya se puede disparar con más o menos acierto, o realizar cargas bastante efectivas, tanto de caballería como de infantería.

Un juego rápido que una vez se conozcan bien las reglas, se convierte en rápido y ágil. Por lo que está muy claro que debo terminar de leerme las reglas.

Otros juegos son especialmente indicado para partidas más pensadas y con tiempo más largo, con la introducción de elementos adicionales que hacen de la partida algo diferentes (generales con un valor más allá del mero marcado, ayudas de campo…),

 

A fast game that once the rules are well known, it becomes fast and agile. So it is very clear that I must finish reading the rules.

Actualmente que me están empezando a ser atractivos, más allá de la espectacularidad del mero despliegue.

Hace un tiempo pensaba que las ambientación napoleónica no era de mi gusto, pero he terminado por descubrir que no es el la ambientación ni el reglamento, sino no mi propia disposición con la que llego a la partida, más por el tipo de jugador al que me iba a enfrentar, más dispuesto a transgredir reglas o a ganar a toda costa, que a disfrutar de la partida.

[2GM] Nueva partida Random USA Vs Germany

New game Random USA Vs Germany

 

El pasado diciembre, entre cierres de comercios y apertura de los mismo, dependiendo del Defcon 3 ó 4 en el que nos encontramos con la Pandemia de la Covid-19, nos pudimos ver las mascarillas (por que las caras, no) y echar una buena partida de 2GM.

 

Last December, between business closings and opening of the same, depending on the Defcon 3 or 4 in which we encountered the Covid-19 Pandemic, we could see the masks (because the faces, no) and take a good game of 2GM.

 

La mesa es una random, en la que se coloca bastante escenografía y después elegimos el lado a desplegar.

En esta ocasión y para poder realizar algo más que una partida “de choque de trenes”, hemos desplegado por los lados cortos, de 120cm, por lo que teníamos 180cm de largo para movernos.

Los alemanes en su primer turno consiguen dar las suficientes órdenes como para plantarse en el mismo cruce.

Al final, entre las risas e ir saludando a un montón de compañeros del club y amigos que venían a saludarnos, no conseguimos pasar del 3er turno.

 

Una buena tarde de reencontrarnos con amigos y conocidos, y de toma de contacto con el reglamento (y la ambientación), después de meses de estar en clausura.

 

In the end, between the laughs and waving to a lot of clubmates and friends who came to greet us, we couldn't get past the 3rd shift.
