Saint Lo July 18, 1944
Partida realizada dentro de la campaña Normandy Nightmare, de
Easy Eight Esnterprise, Inc.
El escenario de esta campaña es “88 Alley”.
Los alemanes tienen como orden, defender a toda consta Saint
Lo, e impedir que los aliados avancen por la carretera que la atraviesa.
Los americanos tienen la orden de destruir las posiciones de
los cañones de 88mm que están en la
destruida población, que impiden que los convoyes de vehículos avancen para apoyar
a la infantería.
Tras un bombardeo inicial, los americanos entran en la
población, que previamente la artillería naval ya se ha encargado de despejar
de alemanes. Aunque sin éxito.
Game made within the campaign Normandy Nightmare, of Easy
Eight Esnterprise, Inc.
The scenario of this campaign is "88 Alley".
The Germans have as their order, to defend Saint Lo
all, and prevent the allies from advancing on the road that crosses it.
The Americans have the order to destroy the positions
of the 88mm guns that are in the destroyed population, that prevent that the
convoys of vehicles advance to support the infantry.
After an initial bombardment, the Americans enter the
town, which previously the naval artillery has already been responsible for
clearing Germans. Although
without success.

En la partida, una vez desplegados los alemanes, los
americanos entramos por el lado que indica el plano.
Primero los vehículos Recon, ya que el alemán ha desplegado
en oculto y hay que ir descubriendo donde tiene las unidades escondidas.
In the game, once the Germans are deployed, the Americans
enter by the side that indicates the plane.

Los M-8 apoyan a las tropas en su avance.

Como el 88mm empieza a disparar contra todo lo que se mueve,

Los morteros alemanes también disparan sin piedad, aunque al
principio no hacen demasiado daño.

En poco tiempo, el centro de St Lo empieza a ser un campo de
tiro.

Los americanos en el avance, no tienen demasiadas bajas.

Y con el apoyo de los Sherman que acaban de entrar en St Lo,
pueden avanzar con más soltura.

Las tropas mecanizadas americanas llegan, pero optan por
hacer el acercamiento a pie (si, el SdKfz 251, representa un M-3 semioruga).

Ante el repentino cambio de actitud de los americanos, los
alemanes empiezan a optar por hacerse fuerte en los edificios que todavía están

Los alemanes, ante las bajas sufridas, optan por hacerse
fuerte en sus posiciones, por lo que los americanos avanzan en tropel.

Eso hace que los alemanes tengan bajas y deban ir
retrocediendo a mejores posiciones.

Al final, un Sherman, localiza al 88mm, y aun a riego de su supervivencia,
consigue realizar un disparo.
Y acierta de tal forma, que consigue dejar el cañón en fuera
de juego.
¡Objetivo cumplido!
In the end, a Sherman, located at 88mm, and even at
the risk of his survival, manages to make a shot.
And it hits in such a way, that it manages to leave
the cannon out of play.

Habiendo conseguido el objetivo, las tropas americanas,
avanzan aún más confiadas.

En sus posiciones, los americanos no cejan de hostigar a las
tropas alemanas.

harassing the German troops.
And the most advanced troops dare to confront the

Tras el nuevo avance americano, los alemanes, bien
posicionados, empiezan a repeler este cambio de tornas.

Al final de muchas risas, de tiradas de dados desafortunadas
y de estrategias extrañas por ambos bandos, la partida fue ganada por los
norteamericanos.
