HoTT, Fantasy battles at army level

El pasado febrero, un mes antes del confinamiento por la pandemia, nuestro compañero Kalthor MacTavish nos convenció de que jugásemos a HoTT (Hordes of the Things).

Es un juego similar a Warhammer Fantasy, ya que puedes crearte los mismos ejércitos, y que puedes crear una batalla a la escala que quieras (15 ó 28mm). Realmente es una buena mezcla entre Warhammer y DBMM, pero mucho más simple que DBMF.

Incluso las distancias son similares y adaptables a las reglas de distancias de DBMM

Nos juntamos en el club y preparamos una mesa, y en esta ocasión nos pusieron y los ejércitos, que eran por un lado un ejército de Slaanesh (hombres lagartos, saurios o como los queráis llamar) y por el otro Elfosm con Altos elfos y de aliados a los Elfos del Bosque, todos ellos de 12mm de la marca Pendraken. Ejercitos facilitados por el fabricante, para que podamos realizar demos y otros con sus minis, ya que somos club reconocido por Pendraken.

Last February, a month before the confinement due to the pandemic, our colleague Kalthor MacTavish convinced us to play HoTT (Hordes of the Things).

It is a game similar to Warhammer Fantasy, since you can create the same armies, and you can create a battle at the scale you want (15 or 28mm). It really is a good mix between Warhammer and DBMM, but much simpler than DBMF.

Even distances are similar and adaptable to DBMM distance rules

We got together in the club and prepared a table, and this time they put us and the armies, which were on the one hand an army of Slaanesh (lizardmen, saurians or whatever you want to call them) and on the other Elfosm with High elves and allied to the Forest Elves, all of them 12mm of the Pendraken brand. Armies facilitated by the manufacturer, so that we can make demos and others with their minis, since we are a club recognized by Pendraken.

Los elfos iban apoyados por un hombre árbol. Este es una dríada de 28mm, modificada para esta conversión.

Los Saurios, que su grupo numeroso son los hombres lagarto, van apoyados por su general, el Gran Slaanesh.

Mientras que los elfos llevan su caballería pesada, los saurios llevan a los hombres lagarto montados en gélidos.

While the elves carry their heavy cavalry, the saurians carry the cold one lizardmen.

El Gran Slaanesh es una figura propia de 12mm, sin modificación alguna.

The Great Slaanesh is a 12mm own figure, without any modification.

Las tropas avanzan para encontrarse lo antes posible.

The troops advance to meet as soon as possible.

Aunque aún quedan un par de turnos para poder llegar al choque de trenes, por lo que perfectamente se pueden realizar las tácticas necesarias durante el acercamiento.

En esta ocasión, como estamos aprendiendo el funcionamiento del reglamento, decidimos no hacer nada de ello.

Although there are still a couple of turns to get to the train crash, so the necessary tactics can be perfectly carried out during the approach.

On this occasion, as we are learning how the regulation works, we decided not to do any of it.

Al final el choque es inevitable (¡faltaría más!).

In the end the shock is inevitable (more would be missing!).

Esto es en el centro de la batalla, ya que en nuestro flanco derecho, las unidades más móviles de ambos bandos se encuentran e inician una cruenta batalla.

This is in the center of the battle, since on our right flank, the most mobile units of both sides meet and start a bloody battle.

Después del primer choque,  no se consigue eliminar a ninguna unidad, peor el movimiento de rechazo es en ambos lados.

After the first shock, no unit can be eliminated, but the rejection movement is worse on both sides.

Al final el sistema de juego es bastante más ágil que DBMF, aunque no cubre todos los posibles casos de combates, el combate me recuerda más al de WHFB y crear un ejército es mucho más simple que DBMM/DBMF, pero más flexible y completo que WHFB.

Un reglamento más para poder jugar con cualquier ejército de Fantasy, con unidades emplaquetadas.

In the end the game system is considerably more agile than DBMF, although it does not cover all possible combat cases, combat reminds me more of WHFB and creating an army is much simpler than DBMM / DBMF, but more flexible and complete than WHFB.

One more regulation to be able to play with any Fantasy army, with plated units.

Como siempre, una buena tarde de risas, con Buenos amigos y disfrutando con algo que actualmente es un tanto complicado hacerlo, por el tema de las disposiciones sanitarias.

[WH40K] Catachanes contra Orkos

Catachans Vs Orks

Es una partida antigua, de hace 4 años, pero que no había todavía posteado en el blog, entre mis catachanes y unos cuantos orkos.

It is an old game, from 4 years ago, but that I had not yet posted on the blog, between my catachanes and a few orks.

Por el lado de los verdes, mucha tropa, con lanzagarrapatos y una moto orka.

On the green side, a lot of troops, with throws squig and an orka bike.

Por parte de mis chicos, una escuadra de Ratlins avanzados y escondidos.

On the part of my boys, a squad of advanced and hidden Ratlins.

Un pelotón de catachanes desplegados, con mando 2 escuadras, un Rhino (haciendo de proxi de un Chimera), con una escuadra de veteranos en su interior,  y un Whirlwind (otro proxi que hacía de Leman Russ).

A squad of deployed catachans, with command of 2 squads, a Rhino (acting as a proxy for a Chimera), with a squad of veterans inside, and a Whirlwind (another proxy who played Leman Russ).

La partida no empieza con buen pie para mi bando, ya que la catapulta lanzagarrapatos, hace mella de una escuadra

Por lo que mis vehículos deciden moverse rápidamente, por lo que pueda pasar.

So my vehicles decide to move quickly, so it can happen.

Los Ratlins empiezan a disparar a “los patos de la feria”.

The Ratlins start shooting "the ducks at the fair."

Y mis escuadras empiezan a avanzar.

And my squads start to advance.

Pero lo mismo hacen los orkos.

But the orks do the same.

Después de un buen toma y daca, entre lo que pierdo el Rhino (Chimera) con la escuadra de veteranos dentro (Eh, boiz! Lata con barbakoa  de Zorpreza!!), sin poder hacer nada, con los ratlins a la mitad de efectivos (y eso que tenía el edificio plagado de trampas para bobos) y otra escuadra mermada por los puñeteros minigarrapatos, aunque los orkos también recibieron de lo suyo, el killer de catachanes, la moto orka, en última instancia, pudimos neutralizarla.

After a good give and take, among which I lose the Rhino (Chimera) with the squad of veterans inside (Eh, boiz! Al final esta moto se había convertido en “el orko ejército”, ya que fue el que más minis mató el solito.

Llegada la hora de recoger, estaba muy claro que, a menos que pasará algo excepcional, los orkos ganaban, por lo que nos fundimos los jugadores en un abrazo fraternal, entre lágrima de lo que nos habíamos reído.

In the end, this orka bike had become "the army ork", since it was the one that most minis killed by himself.

When it was time to pick up, it was very clear that, unless something exceptional would happen, the orks won, so the players melted into a brotherly hug, tearful of what we had laughed at.

¡Ah, si! otro aliado orko en nuestras filas era el hijo de p---ta del comisario, ya que ante el acobardamiento de la escuadra mermada por el lanzagarrapato, saco la pistola blaster y descerrajó un tiro al catachán más cercano entre ceja y ceja, para que el resto de tropa le viniese un subidón y se lanzara contra la marea verde. Funcionó, pero bien habría podido costarle la vida en manos de los catachanes sobrevivientes… es lo que tiene llevar un comisario con esta tropa.

En 3ª edición al empezar la partida, los catachanes (y sólo estas tropas), hacen una tirada de chequeo hacia el comisario. Si la pasan, la unidad en la que esté asignado el comisario, sentirá un fervor sanguinario contra el enemigo y ya no realizarán las tiradas de chequeo de moral. Si no la pasan… “¡Uy, perdón! Se me ha disparado el arma antes de empezar el combate” y comisario menos.

Ah yes! Another Orko ally in our ranks was the commissioner's mother…cker, since when the squad was crushed by the lug-thrower, he took out the blaster pistol and shot a shot at the closest catachán between his eyebrows and eyebrows, so that the rest of the troops came high and launched against the green tide. In the 3rd edition at the beginning of the game, the Catachans (and only these troops) make a check roll towards the commissar. If they pass it, the unit in which the commissioner is assigned will feel a bloody fervor against the enemy and they will no longer carry out the morale check rolls. If they don't pass it ... "Oops, sorry! My gun was fired before I started the fight ” and less commissar.

Una buena tarde de risas, en especial por la p…ta moto orka, que no pringaba ni derrapando en los giros!! A mi oponente le salió muy rentable ese trasto, ya que más de la mitad de mis defunciones la hizo ella solita, ¡¡además del Rhino (Chimera) y toda la tropa del interior!!

A good afternoon of laughter, especially for the b..tch orka bike, who did not get dirty or skid in turns !! To my opponent, that thing came out very profitable, since more than half of my deaths were made by herself, in addition to the Rhino (Chimera) and all the troops inside !!

[Napoleónico] El cruce

The crossing

En septiembre de 2019, tuve la oportunidad de jugar a Shako para retomar reglas.

In September 2019, I had the opportunity to play Shako to take up rules.

En esta ocasión se enfrentan las unidades de rusos y franceses.

Los rusos tienen la orden de defender un cruce y los franceses de tomar la población cercana al cruce, para poder afianzar el puente del cruce y así sus tropas poder atravesar el rio y acercarse más camino de Moscú.

On this occasion, the Russian and French units are facing each other.

The Russians have the order to defend a crossing and the French to take the population near the crossing, in order to secure the bridge of the crossing and thus their troops can cross the river and get closer to Moscow.

Los rusos despliegan desde la mitad del terreno, por ser defensores, y los franceses aparecen por el fondo de su zona de despliegue.

The Russians deploy from the middle of the field, being defenders, and the French appear at the bottom of their deployment zone.

Los rusos deciden estar en reserva, a falta de saber que hará el general francés.

The Russians decide to be in reserve, for lack of knowing what the French general will do.

Aunque la caballería despliega desde retaguardia, con órdenes de avanzar. Y lo hacen por l carretera, ya que esto hace que vayan algo más rápidos.

Although the cavalry deploys from the rear, with orders to advance. And they do it on the road, since this makes them go a little faster.

Por su parte, los franceses en el primer turno, consiguen que su caballería y casi toda la infantería del primer regimiento mixto esté al otro lado del puente.

For their part, the French on the first turn managed to get their cavalry and almost all the infantry of the first mixed regiment to be on the other side of the bridge.

Y se equivocan al hacer pasar a la artillería por el vado del rio, cosa que enlentece a estos y al resto del regimiento al que están adscritos, y al final nos iban a dar la partida a los rusos, ya que no pudieron usar la artillería.

And they are wrong to make the artillery pass through the ford of the river, something that slows them down and the rest of the regiment to which they are attached, and in the end they were going to give us the start to the Russians, since they could not use the artillery .

Mientras, la infantería rusa del flanco derecho recibe la orden de avance y se van posicionando a la derecha del camino, en una zona de campos sembrados.

La infantería del flanco izquierdo se reposiciona para defender la población, tanto desde dentro de la misma, como desde las afueras.

Después de unos turnos de avance de la caballería francesa (lo siento, en el fragor de la partida, no realicé fotos de esta parte), a la espera que su artillería se reposicione correctamente, en una carga bastante exitosa por parte de los galos, que dejan a uno unidad de caballería rusa casi diezmada, retroceden para su descanso, por tener los caballos agotados y rehacer las filas después de una buena batalla y haber perdido buen número de tropas.

After a few turns of advance of the French cavalry (sorry, in the heat of the game, I did not take photos of this part), waiting for his artillery to be correctly repositioned, in a fairly successful charge by the Gauls, that they leave one unit of Russian cavalry almost decimated, they retreat for their rest, for having the exhausted horses and rebuilding the ranks after a good battle and having lost a good number of troops.

Pero se posicionan mal, ya que dan el flanco lateral a una de las baterías rusas, que de momento no habían disparado nada, por estar mal colocada.

But they are positioned poorly, since they give the lateral flank to one of the Russian batteries, which so far had not fired anything, for being misplaced.

(Nota, aunque en la foto se vea media batería, realmente había desplegada una batería completa, es lo que pasa al olvidarme una batería en casa).

La andanada de la batería rusa fue tan efectiva, que las pocas unidades que quedaban ilesas, terminaron desparramadas en medio del camino. Una unidad risa menos.

The firing of the Russian battery was so effective that the few units that were unharmed ended up scattered in the middle of the road. One unit laughs less.

La partida siguió un poco más, pero a lo que habíamos venido era a probar reglas y a pasar una buena tarde de partida.

Y este objetivo fue más que conseguido, a pesar de no poder terminar la partida.

The game continued a little longer, but what we had come was to try the rules and spend a good afternoon in the game.

And this objective was more than achieved, despite not being able to finish the game.
