Relearning Blitzkrieg
El pasado mes de diciembre, en los últimos estertores del
año, nos propusimos hacer una partida de Blitzkrieg.
En esta partida tuvimos a un novato del juego, sólo había
jugado una partida, y la inestimable ayuda de Josep María, que sólo juega a con
este reglamento y nos indico unas cosillas que hacíamos mal, y otras, como la
artillería, por no haber llegado a leer detenidamente esa parte del reglamente.

Last December, in the last rales of the year, we set
out to make a Blitzkrieg game.
In this game we had a rookie of the game, he had only
played one game, and the invaluable help of Josep María, who only plays with
this regulation and indicated some things we were doing wrong, and others, such
as artillery, for not having come to read that part of the rule carefully.

Los alemanes empezaron desplegando.
The Germans started
deploying.
La posición de los Panzer IV sobre las colinas, clamaba al
cielo de que nos iban a hacer sudar sangre.
The position of the Panzer IV on the hills, called to

El despliegue americano no lo hicimos bien, ya que
desplegamos frente a los tanques posicionados , por lo que todo el que salía
del bosque, sólo tenían que hacer un “tiro al pato”

deployed in front of the positioned tanks, so everyone who left the forest,
just had to do a "duck throw"
Pero no aprendiendo la lección, continuamos avanzando a los Sherman
entre los dos bosques.

the Shermans between the two forests.
Y pasó lo que tenía que pasar.
And what had to happen happened.
La tropa no conseguía salir del bosque.
The troops could not get out of the forest.
Y el segundo tanque aleman, eliminaba al segundo
grupo de Sherman que estaba de apoyo del primero.
And the second German tank, eliminated the second
Sherman group that was in support of the first.
Está claro que los Panzer a distancia, son muy superiores
que los Sherman.
It is clear that the remote Panzer, are much superior
than the Sherman.
Hasta el M-10 duró también poco en combate.
Until the M-10 also lasted little in combat.
Aprendimos mucho sobre las distancias y las coberturas.
Y que no podemos atacar de frente a donde está el núcleo del
enemigo, sino que debemos crear flanqueos para conseguir tener alguna
posibilidad.
We learned a lot about distances and coverage.
And that we cannot attack in front of where the
enemy's core is, but we must create flanks to get any chance.
