A new game between the rival factions par excellence
in WWII: Germans against North Americans.
This time it was a game in which the two sides deploy
20cm from their positions and must take the central town.
As we are very close to the objective as soon as we
start the combat and since both sides have mobile units, it is clear that the
objective will be to eliminate the opponent ... or push him back.
The Germans deploy with the bulk of the troops in the
center of their departure zone.
Of course, his General in Chief, his CO, not to tire,
mounted in KubelWagen.
Mmmm ... It will be a matter of finding a Dodge for my
general.
tengo.
For our part, the units deployed were somewhat
atypical.
An army to prove that you can get what I have.
On our right flank, all our artillery and anti-tank
batteries.
On our left flank, the armor, in front of those of the
Germans.
And in the center, the few infantry units, supported
by HMG’s
El avance alemán fue mínimo e inexistente. Las tiradas de
dados no le acompañaron.
The German advance was minimal and non-existent. The
dice rolls did not accompany him.
My well-placed observers and officers gave information
on where the enemy was, and the artillery did not wait for them to protect
themselves.
centrales.
Both on our left flank and in its central units.
despeinaran.
And a couple of German casualties fell without the
Americans tousling.
antitanques.
Then, albeit slowly, the tank destroyer artillery
gradually advanced to reposition itself, especially the anti-tanks.
Oddly enough, the anti-tanks, led by their crew, were
the units that advanced the most at all times.
They almost entered the village!
guerra.
That after half immobilizing the Germans, on the next
turn, the artillery on and off the ground continued to wage war.
But as soon as they could, the Panzers rocked my
Shermans, who lived up to their affectionate nickname, the Romsons: a shot
possibility, a burning Sherman.
After a couple of nefarious turns for the Germans,
regarding their dice rolls, my good luck gave way to the typical
self-inflicting damage roll.
As it seems that the orders have not understood them
at all, they decide to delay their position.
Something that the Germans do not waste the least and
enter the town through the center.
At the moment they have already achieved the
objective, it only remains that in three turns the USA cannot enter it.
oportunidad, empiezan a disparar.
The tables have turned; The Germans have all the
initiatives they want, and the Americans are hardly the only Commander in Chief
who does something.
So my well-positioned antitanks, as soon as they have
a chance, start firing.
Y no pierden oportunidad. Pocas acciones pero efectivas.
And they don't lose opportunity. Few but effective actions.
unidad.
¡¡Cobardes
Greens!!
In the end the game, although with large amounts of
casualties, was won by the Germans, since it achieved the objective: to take
the town, and the USA, with only one Sherman on casualty, could not bring in a
single unit.
Coward Greens !!
After a lot of laughter, greeting a lot of
acquaintances who stopped by the store, teaching a couple of potential new
players how the BKC rules are, we had to pick up with the good taste in our mouths
of having finished the game.
Por mi parte he aprendido varias cosas:
unidades principales.
For my part I have learned several things:
- Cannons and antitanks without a tractor vehicle do
not do much good.
- Infantry without transport vehicles, do not serve
much before reaching the objective. They're slow. Once on the target, infantry
is essential to maintain it.
- If I have artillery off the game board, better not
to use programmed fire. It is not the first time that it is useless, unless I
get points and do not know what to do with them.
- Anti-tanks, it is not necessary to put many, 2 (or 3
at most) well placed are enough to stop the enemy. The 57mm ones have a short
shooting distance, but they are effective, so either they are in the same
vehicle as the infantry or they are of little use. Although somewhat expensive,
the 75mm anti-tank is the ideal anti-tank for Americans, as they have a good
distance shot.
- It is not the first game that confirmed it: the
Sherman 75mm only serves as support for the advance of the infantry, or as
protection from other more effective armor, such as the M-10 tank destroyers or
a long 76mm tank, doing the same role. The armor, the scope and the penetration
of the 75mm, does not stop for more.
- Sheman cannot be used as an army spearhead or as a
main unit. I will have to find another strategy or diversify main units.
hacer.
For before the next games, I already have homework to
do.
