A new game of Blitzkrieg Commander to get familiar with the game.

In each game we apply a new rule that always improves the gameplay of the game. Everything is in the manual, but there are rules that sometimes take more or less to get used to applying them.

On this occasion, the game consisted of having the road under control, and making the opponent back down.

On the US side, I deployed the tanks on the right flank, the infantry in the center, and the mortars with a tank destroyer on the left flank.

On the part of the Germans, on our right flank, in front of the Shermans, the mechanized infantry with the antitanks deploy their Panzer units in the center, and on our left flank, their infantry, their recon and a Stug III.

The Germans began the movement, positioning their Panzers on the hill and the surrounding area.

Their mechanized infantry, approach positions, to flank our Shermans with antitanks.

The infantry on our left flank advance, but moving towards the center, to counter the advance of our infantry.

And the Stug, it faces directly against our M-10.

We Americans have one more trick, two artillery batteries from off the board.

That by firing at his preset target, he gives the Panzers a good blow, but even so, it has been little.

It is time to advance the North American troops, beginning with the Shermans, who are positioned on the nearby hill.

The infantry, anticipating that the mechanized units could not locate them, advance hiding through the wheat fields.

The Germans counter the Shermans' advance, firing all over them. And that has hurt.

Although our Shermans, finally, do more hits and damage to the Germans. Well… and off-board artillery.

The US infantry does not advance at all, (as always, Grrr… I will have to change the Greens for the Regulars), but the M-10 is positioned to “hunt” the Stug.

But the mortars that cover the advance of the infantry and the M-10, are doing their job well.

At the end of the game, the USA took very little damage, compared to other games, while the Germans took theirs.

Although the game was leaning towards the USA side, even without being able to finish the game, especially because of the bad rolls of the German dice, the objective of controlling the road was, at that time, the Germans, although with what that they were receiving from the three groups of American mortars, was on the way of not maintaining it for a long time.

Regarding the American effectiveness, it was thanks to the dice rolls, good for us and bad for the Germans, since they did not get many initiative rolls. In fact, in many shifts, only the OC was the only one who gave coherent orders, and had to give them, with the consequent penalties, to the troops of the other commands.

A good afternoon of laughter (and many, because of the dice), and of greeting people who came to see how the regulations work, or to greet us.
