Nuevamente una partida de 2GM, una época que me apasiona a
nivel de wargames, junto con combates de escaramuzas actuales, pero de esto
último suelo encontrar poca gente para poder jugar.
En esta ocasión los norteamericanos intentan Hacerse con dos
puntos clave dentro de la pequeña población: la Estación de Tren y la Fábrica.
Pero antes, y algo habitual en los USA, realizan un
bombardeo inicial al avance de la tropa.
Again a game of 2GM, a time that I love at the level
of wargames, along with current skirmish battles, but from the latter I usually
find few people to play.
On this occasion the Americans try to get two key
points within the small population: the Train Station and the Factory.
But before, and something habitual in the USA, they
carry out an initial bombardment to the advance of the troop.
El grupo norteamericano, apoyado por paracaidistas y boinas
verdes británicos, inician el avance.
The North American group, supported by paratroopers
and British green berets, began the advance.
Este avance se realiza usando los edificios como cobertura
ante los alemanes, bien parapetados y ocultos a la vista de los
norteamericanos.
This progress is made using the buildings as a cover
against the Germans, well parapeted and hidden from view of the Americans.
Los Sherman hacen lo mismo que las tropas, usando las
esquinas para protegerse de los panzerfaust y de los ATG
The Shermans do the same as the troops, using the
corners to protect themselves from panzerfaust and ATG
Las tropas británicas, algo más lanzadas, se mueven
rápidamente por las afueras de la población.
The British troops, somewhat more launched, move
quickly on the outskirts of the population.
Una unidad de M3 semioruga (si, es un SdKfz 250 que hace de
vehículo USA) con lanzallamas empieza a avanzar por el extrarradio de la
población.
A half-track M3 unit (yes, it is an SdKfz 250 that
acts as a US vehicle) with flamethrowers begins to advance through the
outskirts of the population.
En cuanto empiezan los disparos, las tropas norteamericanas,
algo más expuestas, empiezan a sentir el peso del plomo.
As soon as the shooting begins, the American troops,
somewhat more exposed, begin to feel the weight of lead.
Muchos de los alemanes estaban ocultos a las afueras de la
población e inician el avance, parapetados con los edificios.
Many of the Germans were hidden on the outskirts of
the town and began the advance, parapeted with the buildings.
Y desde los bosques cercanos.
And from the nearby forests.
Cuando todo parecía estar más o menos bajo control
norteamericano, el Tiger entra en escena.
When everything seemed to be more or less under
American control, the Tiger enters the scene.
Y van de forma muy rápida al encuentro de las tropas USA.
And they go very quickly to meet the US troops.
Las tropas americanas empiezan a ponerse en cobertura
pesada.
The American troops begin to put themselves in heavy
coverage.
Algunas unidades norteamericanas consiguen llegar a la mitad
del campo de batalla.
Some North American units manage to reach the middle
of the battlefield.
Y empiezan a recibir las primeras bajas.
And they begin to receive the first casualties.
El vehículo con el lanzallamas, consigue llegar hasta la
estación, sin muchos problemas.
The vehicle with the flamethrower, manages to reach
the station, without many problems.
Todo parece que va muy encarrilado para los norteamericanos,
y siguen avanzando sin mucho miramiento.
Everything seems to be very on track for Americans,
and they continue to move forward without much attention.
A pesar de haber llegado a la estación de tren, el avance
está amenazado por el Tiger que se encuentra al otro lado de las vías.
Despite having arrived at the train station, the
advance is threatened by the Tiger that is on the other side of the tracks.
Parte de las tropas alemanas que están en el bosque,
intentan alcanzar la estación de tren, antes que los americanos.
Part of the German troops that are in the forest, try
to reach the train station, before the Americans.
El resto de las tropas quedan como refuerzo en una segunda
oleada.
The rest of the troops remain as reinforcement in a
second wave.
Las tropas que estaban a las afueras de la ciudad, consiguen
avanzar un buen trecho, apoyadas por un SdKfz 222
The troops that were on the outskirts of the city,
manage to go a long way, supported by an SdKfz 222
Con lo que consiguen hacerse fuertes en algunos de los
edificios.
With what they get strong in some of the buildings.
Mientras, el lanzallamas USA, consigue alcanzar a la unidad
alemana que avanza hacia la estación.
Meanwhile, the flamethrower USA, manages to reach the
German unit that advances towards the station.
Pero aun así, los alemanes se hacen con la estación.
Tropas americanas apoyan el avance británico hacia la
estación de tren.
But even so, the Germans take over the station.
American troops support the British advance towards
the train station.
Aunque los británicos sufren pérdidas en su avance hacia la
estación.
Although the British suffer losses in their progress
towards the station.
Pero el jeep de apoyo del M3 semioruga, cae ante los
disparos de los alemanes que hay en el bosque cercano a la estación.
But the support jeep of the M3 half-track falls before
the shooting of the Germans in the forest near the station.
Los americanos que han llegado más o menos hasta la mitad de
la población, se encuentran atascados en las afueras de una antigua fábrica en
ruinas.
Americans who have reached about half the population,
are stuck on the outskirts of an old factory in ruins.
Y lo único que consiguen es parapetarse dentro de esta.
And the only thing they get is to paraperse themselves
within it.
Los alemanes, bien asentados en los edificios cercanos, no
permiten que los americanos avancen más de donde están.
Es el momento en el que los USA no vemos claro si vamos a
ganar.
The Germans, well seated in the nearby buildings, do
not allow the Americans to advance more where they are.
It is the moment in which the USA does not see clearly
if we are going to win.
Esto permite que las tropas alemanas que no habían avanzado,
lo hagan sin problemas.
This allows German troops that had not advanced to do
so without problems.
La estación es alemana, por lo que todas las tropas del
bosque, conjuntamente con el Tiger, pueden iniciar el avance sin problemas.
The station is German, so all the troops of the
forest, together with the Tiger, can start the advance without problems.
Aunque el M3 americano, sigue “flameando” a las tropas que
se han quedado rezagadas.
Although the American M3, continues to
"flaming" the troops that have lagged behind.
A partir de este momento, el avance norteamericano es a base
de muchas pérdidas.
As of this moment, the American advance is based on many
losses.
Y el Sherman no hay manera que pueda avanzar.
And the Sherman there is no way I can move forward.
La estación es uno de los dos puntos
estrategicos,el otro es la fábrica, por lo que las tropas que han apoyado el
avance británico, salen para poder tomar al asalto este edificio.
The station is one of the two strategic points, the
other is the factory, so the troops that have supported the British advance,
leave to be able to take the building to the assault.
Los británicos consiguen sacar de la estación a los pocos
alemanes que habían conseguido entrar, pero no tienen claro que si entran será
suyo.
The British get out of the station to the few Germans
who had managed to enter, but they are not sure that if they enter it will be
theirs.
Al final, el M3 se enfrentra al Tiger… y sabemos que
significa eso.
In the end, the M3 confronts the Tiger ... and we know
what that means.
Mientras los alemanes van cercando a la fábrica en ruinas,
otro punto de interés por ambos bandos.
While the Germans are nearing the factory in ruins,
another point of interest on both sides.
A pesar de todo, los americanos consiguen afianzarse en la
estación.
In spite of everything, the Americans manage to take
hold in the station.
A pesar de que no puede avanzar, el Sherman mantiene a raya
a las tropas alemanas que se acercan.
Although he cannot move forward, the Sherman keeps the
approaching German troops at bay.
Aunque las bajas americanas son muy superiores que las
alemanas.
Although the American casualties are much higher than
the German.
Aun así, a los alemanes se les hace muy
difícil también avanzar.
Even so, it is very difficult for the Germans to also
move forward.
Al final de la partida, los alemanes eran los que más tropas
tenían sobre el tablero.
At the end of the game, the Germans were the ones with
the most troops on the board.
Pero los americanos terminaron con la estación y la fábrica
afianzadas.
But the Americans ended up with the station and the
factory entrenched.
Estoy convencido que si se pudiese haber jugado unos 3
turnos más, los alemanes se hubiesen hecho con la estación fácilmente y, en
cuanto el Tiger llegase cerca del Sherman, este hubiese dejado de existir.
Un triunfo Usa sólo porque supimos gestionar y aguantar con
los turnos de la partida. De lo contrario… ¿de qué?
I am convinced that if 3 more shifts could have been
played, the Germans would have taken over the station easily and, as soon as
the Tiger arrived near the Sherman, it would have ceased to exist.
A triumph Use only because we knew how to manage and
endure with the turns of the game. Otherwise ... of what?
